Kurz gesagt: Die App erhebt keine Daten. Alles, was du in Gratulino eingibst, bleibt auf deinem Gerät.

  • Kein Konto, keine Werbung, kein Tracking, keine Analyse.

Privacy Policy

Questions about the app can also go to geburtstagsgruss.app@gmail.com.

In short: The app collects no data. Everything you enter in Gratulino stays on your device.

  • No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics.
  • The app uses no servers and sends nothing to me or to anyone else.
  • Your contacts are not included in any cloud backup.

What is stored on your device

For each person you add: name, birthday (the year only if you enter it), phone number, channel (SMS or WhatsApp) and greeting text. Plus your settings, such as the reminder time. This data is used only to remind you and to prepare the greeting. It leaves the device only when you trigger it yourself (see “Sending” and “Export”).

Android

  • The app has no internet permission. It technically cannot send any data over the network.
  • Android backup and transfer to a new device are turned off for the app.
  • Reminders are scheduled with Android’s own alarm and notification features, without a server.

iPhone (iOS)

  • The app contains no networking code and no third-party libraries.
  • The file holding your contacts is excluded from iCloud and device backups. Your settings (reminder time, chosen template) are stored by iOS like those of any app; they may be part of your device backup, but contain no contact data.
  • Reminders are local notifications triggered by iOS on the device. There are no push messages from a server.

Contacts from your address book

When you pick a person from your address book, the system’s contact picker opens. The app receives only the one entry you tap (name, number and, on iPhone, the birthday if stored). The app does not ask for ongoing access to your address book.

Sending

Gratulino never sends anything on its own. When you tap the reminder, your SMS app or WhatsApp opens with the number and the prepared text. You send it there yourself. From that point, the terms of your mobile carrier or of WhatsApp apply. If WhatsApp is not installed, the WhatsApp link (wa.me) opens in your browser instead.

Export and import

Only if you choose “Kontakte exportieren” (export contacts) in the settings does the app write your contacts to a file. You choose where it is saved in the system’s file dialog. On import, the app reads only the file you select. The app does not transfer the file. Where it goes afterwards (for example a cloud folder) is up to you.

Deletion

You delete entries directly in the app. Uninstalling the app makes the system remove all of its data from the device. You delete exported files yourself.

This website

When you visit these pages, the web server keeps technical access logs: IP address, time, requested address, browser identifier (user agent) and referrer. This is for security and operating the site (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are kept for at most 14 days and then deleted automatically. The server is located in a Hetzner Online GmbH data centre in Germany.

The site sets no cookies, loads nothing from other servers (no Google Fonts, no CDN) and uses no tracking.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Since the app sends no data to me, I hold no app data about you. If you email me, I use your address and message only to reply.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live.

Changes

If anything about the app changes that affects privacy, I will update this page. The date at the top shows the current version.
